Every landlord, management company, building rental manager etc, must accept city/government rental subsidies which have other names like, but not limited to "Vouchers" "Section 8" "CityFEPS" "HDFC".
Watch this quick video of real world questions with proper answers.
Below are examples but not limited to the following.
It is illegal to say "let me check with the landlord"
It is illegal to say "I don't know if the building/landlord will accept a voucher"
It is illegal to refuse to accept government rental subsidies or refuse to allow a prospective tenant to apply for or to rent an apartment in a building based on his/her receipts of government rental subsidies.
It is illegal to "ghost" someone after they tell you they have a voucher
If a landlord ever refuses to accept any type of voucher, you must inform them that it is illegal and if they do not, you then will be obligated to report it to the DOS and brokerage management. If you do not report the landlord promptly, you will be equally as liable in a lawsuit.
